Seattle Department of Neighborhoods works to bring government closer to the residents of Seattle by engaging them in civic participation; helping them become empowered to make positive contributions to their communities; and by involving more of Seattle's underrepresented residents, including communities of color and immigrants, in civic discourse, processes, and opportunities. NEWS and UPDATES Free Filmmaking Workshops offered at Seattle Center for Neighborhood Stories Entrants The Next Fifty invites you to participate in A Story Runs Through It, a community filmmaking project that will celebrate Seattle’s neighborhoods and the civic life within them, and connect neighborhoods together. Click here to see the promotional video! Submit your film of up to 3 minutes between now and August 31. Selected participants will receive modest cash awards and the opportunity to screen their videos at a festival during The Next Fifty’s Civic Action month in October.
