The Mayor’s Office for Senior Citizens supports healthy aging, independent living, and social and civic engagement, all to make a difference in the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities.

The office has provided direct services to benefit older adults for more than 30 years. Services include:
- Information and Assistance: Information, resources and referrals for seniors and adults with disabilities and those who care for them.
- Age 55+ Employment Resource Center: Career information, job search guidance, and training referrals for Seattle residents age 55 and over, and administration of the Title V Senior Community Service Employment Program for income-eligible seniors throughout King County. - Gold Card and FLASH Card: The Gold Card for Healthy Aging (for seniors age 60 and above) and FLASH Card (for adults with disabilities) list phone numbers for information and assistance and entitle cardholders to discounts for events, goods and services at selected businesses and organizations throughout King County.
- Seniors Training Seniors (Computer Classes): Computer classes for adults age 50 and better, taught by computer-savvy older volunteers at several locations. Modest fees. Learn beginning word processing, Internet, and e-mail skills — even photo editing. Volunteer instructor positions available.
- Arts and Special Events: Special events throughout the year and free tickets to theater, sports and other arts and cultural events.
- “Spotlight”: Free newsletter published three times per year.
